Chapter 2, Grievance 7 – The Dictator cometh

Addresses massive executive overreach by California’s dictator governor, who used the emergency powers associated with the Covid-19 pandemic to justify an outrageous power grab. The nonpartisan Legislative Analyst’s office cited 13 ways in which the governor tried to “sideline legislative authority” usurping legislative powers for his own. Since declaring the state of emergency he has signed 41 Executive Orders, changing over 200 laws, spanning 17 different California codes.
